LOCAL company Altion Law are supporting Milton Keynes Hospital Charity’s Big Christmas Give Appeal.

This week the local business generously donated £250 to the appeal, to help make a difference to patients and visitors in hospital.

A spokesperson from Altion Law said: “As a local firm based in Milton Keynes, we are keen to support the local community. We currently support the hospital’s neonatal department and wanted to take this opportunity to show our appreciation and support of our local hospital as a whole for the great work they do.”

Michaela Clark, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity said: “The Big Christmas Give means we can make a difference to patients and visitors at the hospital all year round and not just at Christmas, so we’re delighted to receive this amazing donation from Altion Law. Thank you!”

The Big Christmas Give appeal is funding a wish list of items to benefit patients and visitors at the hospital.

Supporting the children's wards, cancer services and patients with dementia, some of the items on the wish list include sensory items for patients with dementia, iPads and play equipment for young patients as well as more comfortable chairs, hot water bottles and fans for the chemotherapy unit.

  • MKUH Annual Meeting 2018 - All welcome

Come along to our Annual Meeting on Wednesday 12 September to find out all you need to know about how your hospital has been performing over the past year.

The meeting will be held in our Academic Centre on the hospital site with refreshments to be served from 6pm for a prompt start at 6.30pm. All staff, patients and members of the public are welcome to attend.

This is a short message of thanks to staff at Milton Keynes University Hospital as we celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS today.

I hope you can all take a moment to have a break and reflect on the part you play in the service we are celebrating today.

The NHS is a team of 1.5 million, a system, in which we all play an important part. To do our jobs well – whoever we are, and particularly if we have a leadership role - we are each dependent on a network of others in hundreds of different roles. Every member of the NHS team is as vital as the next and it is this co-operative, this family, that is part of what makes working in the NHS so special.
