Appointed as Consultant Microbiologist at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) in April 2016. Dr Kapila started her higher specialist training at nine wells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland. The latter part of her training was completed at University Hospitals of Leicester where she achieved her CCT. Her first consultant job was in Nottinghamshire but she finally chose to move to the East of England when she joined MKUH.
Dr Kapila has taken the infection control lead role in the trust where she works alongside the Infection prevention and control team (IPC) in addition to her routine clinical commitments. She is also the lead for the laboratory services and will be working with lab chief and pathology service manager to improve laboratory services in Milton Keynes.
Having worked in University Hospital settings, Dr Kapila has a keen interest in medical education and has extensive experience in teaching and training of medical students, foundation doctors and a variety of health care professionals, both in hospital and community setting. Outside work life, she enjoys travelling and exploring different parts of the world.
