Life at Milton Keynes Hospital

Are you are looking for a challenging job in one of the most vibrant, fastest growing communities in the country? Somewhere with a central location, good transport links, and excellent housing? Along with the UK's best shopping, and a superb night life?

Milton Keynes is one of the fastest growing areas in the country, with a rapidly increasing population.

Providing acute health care for this vibrant community is an ongoing challenge for the hospital. And for the staff who work here. If you are looking for a challenge, and an opportunity to develop your role as the city grows, we are the hospital for you.

The atmosphere in our busy hospital is friendly and informal. The working environment is spacious, with wards and departments built around attractive courtyards.

There are many on site amenities available to staff. They include a restaurant and baguette bar, a shop run by the Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital, a florist, hairdressers and a cash point.

There is also a library and staff have access to all the services of the Occupational Health Department.

To support working parents, an on site nursery is available. It provides full time and sessional care for children aged between six weeks and five years.

We are proud of our commitment to developing staff. The Trust offers a range of training programmes, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Personal growth and awareness are encouraged. Individuals can fulfil their current role, and prepare for future challenges.

Most of our training courses are held on site, at the modern Post Graduate Centre, and we have plans to build a large academic building on the site and become a full teaching hospital.

Our trainers help individuals to identify and attain their personal goals. And we work hard to ensure staff are offered the opportunity to attend courses relevant to their needs.

The Trust is committed to helping staff to achieve their full potential, and to promote lifelong learning. Our strategy for Professional Development ensures appropriate teaching, training, learning and education. And it's all supported as part of the personal and professional development of Trust nursing staff.

We organise a variety of activities, and provide excellent benefits.

As an employee, you will enjoy a large range of benefits, including NHS salary pension scheme with flexible retirement options. Childcare vouchers are available, as is flexible working.

Events are also organised, including trips to the theatre, and weekends away. There are staff discounts, including those for health and leisure facilities within the area.
